Select Board · Meeting of January 5, 2026
Sturbridge Select Board unanimously denies a used-vehicle license for Corboy Auto Inc. amid unpaid fines and a pending court case. Chair Jamie Goodwin told the applicant's representative, Gary Magnuson of CMG Environmental, "I find the framing troublesome and, frankly, disingenuous," after the operator, identified only as Sergey, testified he built out a garage without inspections and only learned a month ago he'd been fined daily since summer. Clerk Mary Dowling noted, "It's a new application, and we've got a court proceeding tomorrow, correct?" The board also signed a one-year Teamsters Local 170 DPW contract, accepted $1,076 in donations for the fire department, a 5K and the police K-9 unit, and heard the fire chief report 2,508 calls in 2025, with nine of ten Convenient MD Care ambulance patients so far being non-residents.
