Sturbridge Select Board reviews five years of Route 20 crash data, appoints new police officer. Central Mass Regional Planning Commission's Sujata Krishnan told the joint session with the Planning Board that Sturbridge logged seven fatal crashes and 30 serious injuries between 2020 and 2024, with Route 20 near CVS and the Charlton line among the region's worst spots. Chair Jamie Goodwin said the town has "less patience" waiting on the state after years of forwarded data.
The board unanimously appointed Kevin Marderosian, a father of a current Sturbridge officer, as patrol officer at $39.16 an hour, approved a $16,451.58 lead mine stewardship contract, a $18,000 pavement-management deal with Tighe Bond, and $229,195.32 in Town Hall and Center Office Building HVAC upgrades.
