Select Board · Meeting of May 5, 2026

Sturbridge Select Board awards $328,676 wastewater repair contract, adopts new rates. The board, meeting without Chair Jamie Goodwin, unanimously approved the RJ Forbes contract to repair the treatment plant's PTU No. 1 clarifier, funded through a 2025 town meeting article and an April 27 special town meeting article. Members also codified FY26 water rates of $9.39 per 100 cubic feet and sewer rates of $17.78 per 100 cubic feet, with the town administrator warning "I would not be candid if I didn't say that I think we will still see increases." The board separately approved a $15,000 PARE Corporation contract to begin concept planning for the town's 220-acre Dowdy Road property, appointed Ricky Simino as a part-time police officer at $38.39 an hour, and upgraded Pine Lake RV Resort's pub to an all-alcohol license.
