STURBRIDGE — The Sturbridge Historical Commission launched Phase I of a community-wide property survey project. Working with Barrett Planning Group, the commission will document historic properties in areas including Holden Farm, Shepard Hills/Ridgeview, Library Lane, Walker Pond, and Main Street, beginning around August 7. Phase I photographer Jennifer Doherty will evaluate the properties, with the project funded through Community Preservation Act dollars.
The commission discussed a potential National Register nomination for 47 Farquhar Road but made no formal decision, with Doherty advising against pursuing the listing through the DLTA program due to estimated costs of 6,000 to 8,000 dollars.
