Sturbridge Community Preservation Committee approved $59,000 in preservation funding across three initiatives. The committee voted unanimously for $9,500 in gravestone restoration at North Cemetery and the Old Burial Ground, contingent on Historic Commission approval, after Town Historian Bob Briere explained that 1800s-era stones require professional conservation. Unanimous votes also passed $19,500 for trails and permits and $30,000 for administrative costs.
The committee submitted a placeholder for a bridge project over the Quineboag River, which had received majority support at the April 2025 Annual Town Meeting but needed additional planning.
